Each of our 100% wool rugs is hand woven, using Namibian Swakara wool in its natural colours
Swakara is a breed of Karakul sheep, found only in the south of Namibia.
Our wool carries the Furmark seal, showcasing the farmers commitment to the environment and animal welfare.
Hand woven
Each rug is hand woven, using Swakara Namibian wool in its natural colours. Occasionally, there may be minor irregularities in color and size. These small imperfections and/or irregularities are not flaws, but evidence of the hand crafted origins of the carpet.
Rug size
We build our own looms for custom designs and sizes; share your creative design and dimensions with us! The larger the rug, the more the wool pulls on its own accord during the weaving process. Therefore, any rug over 10 feet in length may be subject to an increase of 3% in size.
Rug pattern
Please note, the size of the rug will affect the pattern repeat, therefore not all rugs will look exactly like the rug shown in the photo.
Scent
Due to the nature of the carpet being 100% wool, there will likely be a natural wool scent accompanying the rug. This is nontoxic and will dissipate after a few weeks.
Shedding
Shedding is normal and will subside overtime with vacuuming.
Crease lines
Rugs of larger size will arrive folded, which may lead to crease lines, which will settle after a few days. The wool reacts to different climates, settling in approximately 2-3 weeks.
Our rugs are made with all natural materials. Care and cleaning of rugs should be completed by a reputable natural rug cleaning specialist. Rugs should be vacuumed with a flat head attachment (not a beater bar) at the lowest power setting.
All return requests must be initiated within 14 days of delivery. The Mill USA will refund the purchase price, provided the rug is returned to The Mill USA (customer is responsible for return shipping) in the same condition as when received. For custom rugs, we only accept returns of rugs that are damaged or incorrect.
